Looking to get a bit of advice, tried searching through forums but there was no definitive answer.

What's the overall consensus on tiling a newbuild bathroom floor?

I am moving in next month which has Caberfloor P5 chipboard installed and wall tiles on one wall. ( attached picture if that helps)
From research I found that tiling direct onto the chipboard is a No No.

Instead it should be either:
1. Add 6mm backerboard glued and screwed to the chipboard then tile.
2. Add 12mm plywood glued and screwed then tile.
3. DITRA on chipboard then tile? (if the chipboard is solid with no vertical movement)
4. Rip up the chipboard and install 22mm marine ply then install.

For a DIY'er the range of answers make things slightly harder to decide...
Any advice would be much appreciated!

Hardie backer or no more ply boards on top of your subfloor is the way to go, gives you a solid base for your tiles
