Hello all

I could really do with some help, please.

Insurance contractor retiled my en-suite. Walls had been reboarded and replastered, floor was reboarded.

Tiles are Porcelanosa.

I’m unhappy with the job. Insurers surveyor says they’re within industry standards.

Can anyone shed some light please? I have attached pictures (these are only a few of the problems!)

Many thanks

Very bad job not to industry standards from bad setting out (small cut to top) to lippage and bad joints and bad grouting
you have every right to complane about it. get back on to them and firmly tell them your not happy and tell them your name and
shame them. dont take no for an answer, lots of calls, e mails ect. let us know how you get on 👍

Thank you for your reply. They have sent their own surveyor out who has only commented that the tiles / grout is within ‘tolerance’ levels. I am wondering if there are any industry standards that I can quote re: grout spacing / size / lippage to get back to them with?

BS 5385 part 1 2018 tile standards 89734 but you would have to look it up
but quote that to them, the job looks terrible and not fit for purpose.
Ask them what https://www.tilersforums.com/forums/tile-adhesive/ was used, was the surface primed if so what with
what grout was used, make a nusence of yourself just because its an insurance
job does not mean its not done to a good standard..

Thank you, I appreciate your help. I think they are going with the view that because there’s tiles on the walls and floor it’s a job done. My kitchen is also terrible but we’ll not go there 🤣

The job is poor ! I'd not except it !! The picture of the wall being out of level ! Just ask why the tiler has created falls on walls !that would be used in wetroom floors usually !!

Perfect Tiling

OMG....Stevie Wonder could have done a better job of that. If the surveyor says it's acceptable.....he's a waste of space....the whole lot needs redoing I'm afraid
