Is this tile job ok so far? - Tile Advice

Just having our bathroom tile done by a contractor. . Does this look like an acceptable job so far?

Generally no . But that cut around your toilet waste will covered by the toilet so I wouldn't concentrate to much on that when you are complaining about the rest .

It’s the company our insurance provider recommended we use. It’s a restoration company

Let them complete it perhaps first.

The tiling under the kitchen kicker boards (you might call them something else there) will be covered. So that's okay.

The loo bit will be covered.

I think it needs looking at once complete they seem to be using spacers etc so they're not a million miles away from a good job.

I wouldn't upset the relationship by stopping them or anything just yet, personally.

Haven't studied all the pics mind.

I did my first tiling in my own home earlier this year and mine is far neater than that. My second is neater again. A lot of what you have shown will not be on view but the cut around doorways looks bad, he'll probably attempt to fill with grout and it will look worse. Around the toilet the grout lines are not even - that would **** me off if it was like that elsewhere. If I'm paying someone to do something I expect them to do it better than me. I'd take it up with the insurance company rather than the contractor directly.

I think you know the answer at best it is a very poor effort if it's a insurance job then these companies have a nominated contractors who carry out their repairs you should contact them with your conserns don't leave it till completed a bodge job will not last . Kop
