Field tiles 12mm thick, mosaics 8mm thick. Wall dipping away at top too!

Used the dog tooth method with an off-cut of tile.
4mm difference + 2mm https://www.tilersforums.com/forums/tile-adhesive/ so cut it to 6mm:

Spread a load of rapid in rebate

Comb it with dog tooth

Let dry for 30mins and it will leave a perfect depth to tile on

Works a treat and saves loads of time, hassle and mess.

I've done the same thing but with plywood....a tile offcut makes a lot more sense. Why didn't I think of that? Excellent post:thumbsup:

Yep thats the way to do it. If doing horizontal border I usually cut some oddsy tile the width of the border plus what ever joint then once surrounding tile is set remove and do as Macten does , works a treat and you can get the mosaic exactly to correct depth , be that flush or slighlty proud depending on your taste.
Me I like to leave it ever so slightly proud, just.

Isn't leaving 2mm for https://www.tilersforums.com/forums/tile-adhesive/ a bit tight? Or do people use a 3mm Notchy for mosaics?
