Difference in colour

With regards to grey adhesive, and white adhesive, apart from the colour, what is the difference between the two? And what dictates what colour to use?

Usually it depends on what tile you are using and what grout.
Most stone tends to be White adhesive. If you are using a light grout then its an idea to use white adhesive....not a 100% rule but it can help.

hi grant, lighter stone woudl be a white adhesive same for the grouts if i use a light grout generally ill use white adhesive also not always rule of thumb though

no, i'm about to tile my bathroom walls with dakar ivory 40cm x 25cm x 0.5cm ceramic tiles, and the floor with dakar ivory floor 31.6cm x 31.6cm x 0.5cm ceramic tiles. Was going to use Mapei keraflex maxi white/grey adhesive for both applications, and use white grout for both. was asking because white is more expensive than grey, and wondered if there was a reason behind it

the reason white adhesive cost more than grey, is it cost more to produce.....or so ive been told...

I'm not a fan of white grout on floors because obviously difficult to keep clean and dirt will show up more on white than say grey. If you use it then i'd also apply a grout sealer afterwards to help prevent staining and make it easier to clean.

A bit of advice - don't use white grout on a floor, even a bathroom. Use a complimentary colour that blends in with the tile colour, a white grout would stand out and not look natural.

I did a 29 bedroom hotel all the bathrooom floors were grouted in white I queried this but they wanted white told them it wont stay white for long went back after about a year the floors looked terrible cut out all the grout a regrouted with grey looked like new floors so much better

Yes bought it when they first came out and its still going strong would not be without it ,the box is getting a bit rusty now though.
