Common practise for me but I wouldn’t do it with the guard off.
I do a lightish cut on the face and do all the dirty work from the back of the tile then tidy up from the inside.

Plain stupid using without the guard.
The potential of 15000 rpm spinning fragments of metal into your neck / face / eyes.
Ouchies.

I do once around then pizza cuts to the diameter........ tap the pizza slices out with my Warrington hammer - then if the circumference needs tidying up I use my nips or a grinder drum - way quicker to do than the above video.
