Clearly not a tiler by trade. Builder brought him in as part of a loft conversion. Part of the bathroom isn't too bad. I think a combination of lack of care and attention to detail, which are paramount if tile skill is limited. I'll never have a job done in future by someone who isn't qualified. tile is a science and an art.

Hello everyone, the bathroom is finally finished, well almost. In the end the original tiler came and put it right. We had the bad wall tiled over and had polyurethane coving and skirting fitted to hide the big gaps. It looks ok now. The only thing left to do is silicone, which I am going to do myself. I am not experienced, but am going to take my time with it. I am looking for advice on what should be silconed and what colour. I have purchased colour matched silicone with the grout and white silicone.

I've attached a pdf with numbered photos.

Here is what I think.

1. Inside the inset just where the patterned meets the white tile - Grey

2. All corners of walls - Grey

3. Where UPVC window meets tiles - White

4. Just four spots on top of toilet unit to keep marble top in place and round bottom of pan - white

5. Top and bottom of sink splash back - White

7. Around bottom of doorframes - White

8. Around shower tray - white

That's it. I'm hoping to go for it tomorrow.

Thanks in advance.

Taff

Make your life easier and invest in a silicone profiling tool like Fugi or similar and watch a couple youtube videos beforehand, if this is your first go at sealing all this type of stuff it can be a very messy job

I've got a vitrex, a squirty bottle with water and a little washing up liquid. Meths, plenty of cloths. Been preparing all morning. Been on youtube.

A set of fugi tools are a must and plenty of blue roll and wipes I use silicone spray for smoothing off after , don't apply to much silicone in one go you can always add some more it's a pita to remove excess . Kop
