Cement board installation - Tile Advice

Can l put cement board over normal floor boards. They are slightly uneven here and there. Adhesive and screw washer fixings? Thanks.

Yes, the adhesive fills any discrepancies in the floorboards, for 6mm cement boards use 25mm screws no washers needed, stagger boards and tape joints..

25mm turbo gold screws, adhesive wise I'd personally use Ultra SPES..

that's what bal technical said today when asked why there boards are 10mm thick "because that's British Standard for overboarding on floors"

Surely for that to have become BS, BS would have had to test every 6mm cement board available and concluded they were useless... Anybody from BAL we can tag on here? ...and if not, why not?

@Tony Griffin sorry this has disrupted your thread... I have over boarded more floorboard floors in 6mm hardi than I care to remember so please crack on, do it properly to the manufacturers specification's and don't worry...
This won't be the last we hear of this but I don't think its fair to discuss it in this particular thread..
