Hello all, I am currently renovating two bathrooms in my place and needing some advice on tile trim. I renovated a bathroom at my childhood house with my dad. We used aluminium trim up the edge of a wall and around the vanity. Had big problems with the black that comes off it and wasn't happy with how it held up at all. Is there a way to avoid that, we will be using it to edge a step into the shower and around a window. Stainless isn't stocked by anyone in town (they can get it in but it is 4x the price) and was wondering what people usually do? Seal it? Etc.
Thanks in advance.

You must live in the middle of nowhere if no-one stocks stainless tile trim. Most of the coloured metal trims are painted metal style so the paint can chip off if its knocked etc...but some are more durable than others. I always use a stainless style when on floor level if possible as its so hard wearing.....and replacing a damaged trim can be a hell of a job without damage to tiles. Surely you must be fairly close to a tiles supplier such as Topps Tiles or CTD.......even a B & Q at a push.

I called the three leading tile stores and no one had it in stock. I live in Tasmania buy not a very small town. People must not use it much here.
