Hi All,
A local educational charity is looking to have a curved wall tiled (see photo). The wall is located on a communal corridor (not a high moisture / humidity area).
A few tilers have come out to look at it and most have said that we would first need to fix plywood onto the curved wall and then tile onto that.
I have read that the latest British standard doesn't recognise plywood as a tiling substrate for walls anymore.
I have also read around this helpful forum of disaster stories of plywood swelling but this has always been in high moisture areas.
What do you guys think? Would tiling onto plywood be okay in the given location (not a wet / humid area) or would it best to use a curved tile backer board?
Thanking you in advance.
