I have just found out the tiler has used gripfil instead of tile https://www.tilersforums.com/forums/tile-adhesive/ to stick the tiles to the wall. I'm really worried about water ingres and that the tiles will pop off the wall... especially around the electric shower over the bath... which we use a lot The tiler says it will be waterproof but I'm still worried. Am I right to be concerned please?

ok so not that big but still to big for gripfil. all off and redo properly im affraid
have you paid him any money yet?
No. I'll speak to him. Thank you. Is it likely that water will get behind the tiles? He says the grout will make them waterproof but I read grout is actually porous. I'm worried the partition wall will get damp... newly plastered on the other side... and the tiles will fall off.

Yeah i would be worried about laying in that bath..😟😟
Just to say, thank you for confirming my gut feeling. I've advised him they all need to come off and I've had to buy a new lot to replace them. He seems okay about it. But having had some input from another professional has helped me be firm about it.

Just something else to look out for make sure he use's a flexible, bagged https://www.tilersforums.com/forums/tile-adhesive/ ie that he
has to add water to and mix up and not a ready mix from a tub amd he primes the walls first..
