work
In physics, work is the energy transferred to or from an object via the application of force along a displacement. In its simplest form, it is often represented as the product of force and displacement. A force is said to do positive work if (when applied) it has a component in the direction of the displacement of the point of application. A force does negative work if it has a component opposite to the direction of the displacement at the point of application of the force. For example, when a ball is held above the ground and then dropped, the work done by the gravitational force on the ball as it falls is equal to the weight of the ball (a force) multiplied by the distance to the ground (a displacement). When the force F is constant and the angle between the force and the displacement s is θ, then the work done is given by:
W
=
F
s
cos
θ
{\displaystyle W=Fs\cos {\theta }}
Work is a scalar quantity, so it has only magnitude and no direction. Work transfers energy from one place to another, or one form to another. The SI unit of work is the joule (J), the same unit as for energy.

As mentioned in the other thread, I am after a tiler fairly quickly (ie next week). fully appreciate the saying along the lines of if anyone is available straight away, they're probably not good but I don't always believe that and the job is not the biggest so may slot into someones...

Started as a re grout and now....
Obvs the whole wall is gonna have to come off as well as those really nice green tiles behind, but what's the best course of action for that nasty crack on the wall.
Cheers
Peace out
Muff.
Hi Everyone, This is my first post. I'm looking to tile around my cloakroom corner sink with tavertine mosaic tiles, then along the adjoining wall along a worktop (see attached pics).
I'm looking to use jasmine grout with these tiles, but am undecided about edging trim (white, beige, none? I'd...

Hi we excitedly choose some porcelain floor tiles for our kitchen and bathroom, but think the tradesman did a poor job of laying. Is there any way of rescuing without starting all over again? It's like walking on a rope bridge the floor is so uneven. So disappointed and feel very hard done by...

Hi all. In line with my other thread asking for some opinions on tiling layouts for my bathroom reno redo, here are some pictures showing why I’m not happy with the current install. Let me know if I’m just being fussy.
I supplied the tile, which was approved by the tiler (who was also the...

Have a bathroom installation in process. Has become clear that the company is not good at tiling. First of all, they tiled at different levels on opposite walls, so when the adjoining wall was tiled, the tiles didn't line up.
They re-did it, but have left a gap between the ceiling and tiles of...
My wife and I recently had a new kitchen and bathroom fitted and we’re not best pleased with the finish. Are we wrong to be unhappy about this tiling job? We’d appreciate some feedback from the experts please.
Thank you
