Hi. Need some advice.
I've laid down polypipe plus overlay boards in my house.
My tiler says we should place a ditra mat before laying tiles.
However, polypipe say we should NOT use a ditra mat as it will prevent the tile adhesive from curing.
Dont know what to do. Any advice from tilers /...
We just had a 1.5 sq. m area of floor tiled professionally in our ensuite.
The base floor is 18 mm chipboard and is screwed down hard to the joists, but dips down by a max. of around 4 to 5 mm in places.
When laying the tiles, the tiler followed the floor precisely, and hence the finished...

Hi. About to lay ditra matting over cement board substrate. The Ditra handbook states use a 6mm x 5mm trowel. I have a 6x6 trowel. Is this likely to cause a problem?
Also they state use a thin set mortar.....
S2 flexible adhesive should be ok shouldn’t it?
Thanks all
Hi need advice. We had the wet UFH done topped with screed. Been a month since the screed was done. Cracks have appeared at a few places. Is putting Ditra Mat absolutely essential ?? Will it affect the heat coming up from the UFH ?? Do the cracks need to be fixed ??
Thanks
We had tile installed in January of 2018. The installer put Ditra down. The grout stated to crack and come out a few months after installation. Other tiles move. Is this caused by the Ditra? Or some other reason?

Hi all,

Hi all,

Question is can I pre fill Ditra with adhesive then leave to set before tiling ??
My thinking is that with such small tiles where precision is needed a solid surface to spread on and lay would be better than filling and spreading at the...
