    Newbuild shower tiling nightmares!

I would have siliconed between tray and bottom of plasterboard, then the next day then once set, tank over the lot. Advice late but might help someone else !

    New Rubi magnet cutter

I have a tx 700 and have found it excellent but am another of those that have always stuck with rubi. If I was to buy something new I would try to borrow a sigma off a rep as you suggested.

Laying Wood Effect Porcelain - Advice and grout selection

Hi buck fast. I'm actually in Meath! On the grout colour, it's completely up to you. If the planks are lighter I have actually grouted them with bal gun metal which is a light grey. It looked really good actually, surprised me a little! Get a lend of one of the grout books/ samples from a tubs...

    Finishing silicone

Agreed with the others, match silicone to grout even when onto white sanitary ware or windows. I used to use different silicone smoothing devices and found them all pretty good but was talking to an old rooster of a tiler and he said he uses ice block sticks then throws them out. I had a go a...

Overboard T&G floorboards with Hardi Backer Board or 12mm Ply?

    Help with wall before tiling

Also I wouldn't tile over wood. Best to fix moisture resistant plasterboard or fibre cement board ( Hardie backer) then tile over.

    Help with wall before tiling

I agree with Andy but just ensure the skim/ plaster is bone dry before priming and then tiling.

    Tanking Junction

Thanks timeless John. Yep obviously I do as you say in terms of the rest of the tanking ' tape internal corners ' etc. But do you lip the tape or bandage over the length of the tray and silicone though? Or do you just paint the tanking down onto the silicone?

    Tanking Junction

Hi guys Just like your opinions on tanking onto the top of a shower tray. I currently seal the tray against the wall, mid way down the thickness of the tray. Then seal along the top of the tray and wall. Let that go off. Then tank onto that sealant followed by then placing the 'bandage' over...
