    Zinsser would be fine 👍

Grout cracked few weeks after installation

Daves reply is correct. If wall sheets are fixed correctly then taping joints usually prevents this problem. Adding a flexible additive to new grout mix and raking out the old grout may work as removing tiles will probably damage the plasterboard and open up more problems.

Advice please - Epoxy resin shower corners

Silicone should be used where movement will occur. Internal corners and wall/floor joints and around pipe protrusions

Tiler required to fix badly installed shower - Canterbury Kent

tiling onto plasterboard in a shower is never a good thing. Same now for plywood sheeting with new work standards. Backer boards should be used which are water resistant. Even then, the wall and internal corner should be fully waterproofed. Silicone looks pretty dire too. As the tiling process...

Tiling Rates Per Square Meter / Per Day – How much do tilers charge?

I work a lot overseas for similar rates. The plus side is that wet areas are often fully tiled ( 25 to 30 mtr wall and floor) with large living areas 40 to 80 mtr so more area to lay although vinyl and wood effect floors are becoming fashionable too

    Finishing without trim+

Yep. Ok to paint tile edges then wipe off excess from front of tile. Depends on the finished look that you want

Help! Fitter has walked off job & said this work is fine.

I agree Elektor. Its too easy not to have a written contract and trust trades at face value. Fixing is a fail in every way. From waterproofing to basic setting out and cutting tiles and trims. I agree that bevelled tiles never look good against a straight angle. How about those perp joints !!!!

How bad is this tiling job and how can I fix it?

Pretty poor ! Orange tiles are designed to look handmade hence the wavey look. A bigger joint would look better The brass angle should wrap around horizontal first then a verticle strip added below.then filed smooth for safety. Verticle white can look stepped as the short ends arent always...

    Tiling up to wooden architrave

You could mask off the ceiling with the blue paint tape if grout is coloured but if its a wet area paint the grout should wipe off. Dark grey or black especially stains everything

    Tiling up to wooden architrave

Tile levelling systems joints opening up!

I refused clips for years then a builder insisted I use them. If used properly with enough adhesive and no spot fixing then the wedges knocked out correctly, they do work. They even help with the warped plank tiles with lipping. I havent had a failure yet Using on small tiles is definitely...

PLM not snapped in right place stuck in grout lines HELP!

Clips and wedges need to be really tight. Always hit across the wedge firmly or they wont break fully. Never with the wedge. Hitting softly softens the plastic. Clear glue around clip as well

Patio sub base for porcelain tiles

If you pour the slab correctly with falls and no dips etc you can direct stick. Use an adhesive suitable for green concrete. Where I work, reo would be used in the concrete to minimise cracking

Porcelain split face tiles in shower area

Definitely grout. Especially if sticking to plasterboard. The board is only waterproof paper with some additives in the gypsum. The walls should have waterproofing before tiling for added safety

    Tiling up to wooden architrave

Hi. All tile joints that finish against something or to an internal corner should be siliconed. Grout will crack away eventually. you can get silicone to match grout. Best to paint the architrave and ceilings before you silicone or paint wont stick properly

What are the typical margins for tiles in the UK

About 9 years ago I was offered 3 full containers of Slate at "the right price". I said no thankfully. Turned out they had literally fallen off a container ship at sea and had been salvaged. Imagine the salt impregnation in the tiles haha !! Plus I havent used slate in my area since the offer...
