Has anyone fitted these? if so will my Marcrist grinder blade cut them and can I drill them for a round flush button?
Just doing a bathroom with white ceramic wall tiles and grey porcelain floor tiles. I've been asked to prevent the grout going black and dirty over time and to ease cleaning. Can I use something like Stain Stop on the grout?
Its Mapei on walls and Bal on floor.
I mean who acutually watches this garbage? who sits down of an evening and sits through it? How low can you scrape the barrel of sickly brainless nobodys on camera?
One advert for it and I'm wretching...
I dont know the answer to this so I'm going to ask.
So you've got your manual tile cutter and a wetsaw set up so why would you need to cut free hand with a hand held grinder pumping plummes of dust around the place or on the driveway?
What is the need for it?
Hi Guys, in my current bathroom job its been a late decision to have an electric underfloor heating mat.
Its 18mm chipboard well screwed down and I've bought, cut and laid 6mm Hardiebacker but not fixed or glued it yet.
Shall i do away with the Hardie and just screw and glue 6mm insulation...
Yes you heard right, for 7 years I've been using a Big Clinker on all my bathroom jobs and I'm sick of it now.
I have a Rubi pocket 40 for Metros and the like and I'm looking to renew them both for possibly Sigma and a mini Sigma.
Any recommendadtions? I dont do any super large format and...
Hi Guys, never used underfloor heating before but I'm doing one this week. Only 3 metre square, loose wire Prowarm on old but good condition floorboards.
The data sheet says no mention as such of Hardiebacker, we have some 6mm insulation boards on site already.
Is it Hardiebacker as normal...
A few weeks ago I posted a thread on the main forum about British ceramic tiles cracking on all Hardiebacker joins.
As it stands this hasn't been sorted yet as the rep was hard to get hold of and eventually said i need to go back to supplier.
I know they are going to say its my fault and I...
I tiled an L shape bathroom floor 5 months ago and long cracks have appeared at 800mm centres striaght over the Hardiebacker joins.
I've never had any cracks through tiles since 6 years ago when i used to tile on 12mm ply.
The tiles are 300mm British ceramic.
House was built 1984, standard...
Can I use patio cleaner to get this stuff off?
Water splashing on slate floor has water marked it.
What is the best treatment for a bathroom slate floor?
Yes I didn't read the bottle entirely but the tile shop recommended it.
I wonder how many failed floors have come from diy'ers watching this video?
How many thousands of pounds of tiles have been ripped up and skipped into landfill?
Apparently its a trade secrete to PVA straight onto chipboard and then you're good to tile!
I know most guys will have seen this...
My customer has supplied me with Mapei cement based adhesive, Tile Giant must have sold it to them with the tiles and they did this before they contacted me.
I always use Ultra products as that is all my local tile shop stock, can I use Ultra acrylic primer for a Mapei adhesive or has it got to...
Got a hallway and utility to tile (1920's semi), hallway is normal floorboards and then goes into utility but changes to an old 40mm screed. This is cracked badly and parts are loose, under the utility is a celler and when you go down you can clearly see the bottom of the utility floor which is...
Do you guys always silicone around the basin pedestal on the floor like you would a toilet?
I've done it both ways and can't help thinking it looks better without. Discuss.
Doing a bathroom at the moment and have house to myself as customers have gone on holiday while I'm at it, the tiles are actually Wickes travertine look ceramic tiles but look decent enough.
They did mention white grout but personally I think beige/Ivory would be better suited? White tile trim...
Does anyone know how long it takes Topps Tiles to deliver a Rubi Pocket 40?
I ordered last Sunday night and its now Saturday morning and I'm still waiting, and I need my cutter.
Track my order? Ha! no chance, as their website says 'no current orders' on my account, delivery was supposed to be...
I'm looking for some decent ivory silicone, I did have some Everbuild ivory silicone that I used for non wet areas like internal corners well away from bath or shower but I believe its been discontinued as non of my local suppliers sell it anymore.
I wouldn't use Everbuild anywhere near water...
Sorry guys, I had a quick search, I'm doing some work in my current bathroom today and its time to screw the 6mm Hardiebacker boards down.
Never used these on the floor until now (always use them from now on) I would like to know the correct procedure.
6mm trowel?
Primer?
Plasterboard...
I've just started a new bathroom today (floor to be tiled), ripped everything out and when I pulled back the lino my eyes were furnished with a dodgy looking chipboard floor.
The basin had been dripping so a 20 inch patch was rotten. Under the shower tray (no bath) the floor is a loose squeeky...
