    Help needed re. insurance tiling job

    It makes me so angry, we pay our insurance and every year it goes up and they are happy to take the money and look what we get it return, a gang of 3/10 bodgers sent round to throw tiles at the wall and give you a bathroom of new house qaulity (bad).

    It will fail especially if from Victoria Plum, there stuff is unbranded chinese junk, you can't get parts. Is the fitter pressuring you to leave it in? Ask yourself this...will he be coming straight round to break tiles off and pull your bath out in 2 years when you phone him on a Saturday...

    I shudder when I see it, many a time I've had to break the bad news to people, its not the cartridges its the filter gauze rotted away and the water shoots out, misses the bath and sprays against the opposite wall.

    If that is a waterfall tap, swap it please for a decent branded tap. When it fails and it will in 2 years the bath will have to be removed to get to it or break through from the other side. Never put taps on the back wall.

    Is this High standard fitting ?

    In a word no...that L cut tells you everything about the tiler, it tells you he is happy to leave at 4pm from a 'finished' job while people like me are staying later and smoothing down cut edges with a diamond pad. His grouting is rushed and sloppy.
