    Tile trim finish query

Morning all, I like the finish of the window reveal of the attached. My question is, how do you finish the top of the tile trim? Is it a case of a dab of silicone or something to finish off the exposed edge? Many thanks

    Splash back tiling question

Good morning all, I plan to do a tiled splashback for my kitchen. I was wondering whether the tiles should go under the wall unit end panels that border the hob and top box area which would involve scribing the panel to the tiles or butt up to them? Also should the tiles run up to the bottom...

Screed / SLC over old marleys

Hi all, I have a room full of old asbestos marleys in good condition (apart from a few chips by carpet grippers). Can anyone recommend a screed / slc to go directly over the top of the tiles? I don't want to pull them up. Thanks

    Prime old plastered walls

Small downstairs loo. Biggest wall is 1940 x 1220mm Looks like very old paint, possibly from the 1950s. It's not flaky or damaged however. I stripped old wallpaper off and sugar soaped the walls.

    Prime old plastered walls

Evening all, Quick question on priming old walls. Original plaster is in reasonable condition, some minor imperfections etc. Do i need to prime the walls before tilling old plaster? Thanks!

    SLC mistake on floor.

I thought the black adhesive used way back when also contained Asbestos? Our report said it did? Or are you saying that the black adhesive would have been contaminated by the tiles?

    SLC mistake on floor.

Ah ok. Well as others have said, it's a relatively small area so if it does fail, it'll be annoying but nothing i can complain about due to my own mistakes! I guess I'll cross that bridge if it comes to it and keep my fingers crossed in the meantime!

    SLC mistake on floor.

Yes that's right. The asbestos report said Bitumous type product and the old tiles were thermoplastic. The tiles were removed however.

    SLC mistake on floor.

Thanks for the feedback all. I'm going to leave it as long as possible before i tile the SLC to observe any cracks etc. Just to be on the safe side. As an aside, if it does fail, can i remove any debris and simply overboard the floor? I wouldn't want to rip out all the SLC for fear of...

I assume the room size will make a significant difference?

    SLC mistake on floor.

Ok, before i start, I totally misread (as in missed!) the priming instructions on the Mapei 1210 SLC and didn't prime my floor before adding the SLC in my understairs toilet :( Anyway, I poured the well and correctly mixed SLC over old black tile adhesive and everything thus far seems ok! The...

Old tile query in 1950s house

Evening all. Bit of an update on my project. We decided to get our tiles and adhesive tested and it came back positive for Asbestos (Chrysotile). Not a big surprise to be fair and very low risk according to our report. My plan all along was to remove the old tiles anyway, I'll just be doing it...

Old tile query in 1950s house

Hmm may be worth considering. In any case, i plan to carefully remove the collar, and fit a multikwik.
