Hi, I need to raise an 18sqm concrete floor by just over 10mm and am unsure whether to use a self smoothing compound or some kind of board or a mixture of the two.
Any advice on the the best approach would be most welcome.
Thanks.

Hi,
I am about to fix some ceramic 600 x 300 rectified tiles to a bathroom wall and was planning to use the PREMTOOL tile levelling system for the first time. Having read some reviews of these type of systems, some people have said that the plastic does not always snap in the right place...
I see someone has liked the post showing the tiles, but not sure if that is liking the tiles, or liking the method I suggested. I should add that I will be tanking the cement board.
Is this the best approach or is there a better method?
Thanks.
Hi, I am going to tile my sons bathroom where most of the the skim plaster has come off when removing the few tiles there were and the rest of the bathroom is covered in artex, which is quite old and probably contains asbestos. Under the plaster is a very absorbent soft plaster, I asusme this...
Thanks for the reply, much appreciated.
Due the lack of comment from anyone else, I assume that despite British Standard being 3mm for floors, then I run no risk of a grout failure providing the tiles are fixed correctly and I use a floor grout suitable for 2mm joints.
Hi,
I'm laying some 450 x 75 porcelain tiles on a concrete floor and would normally use a 3mm grout joint, what would be the consequences, if any, of using a 2mm grout joint?
Thanks.

Hi
Having removed old "marley" tiles there is a residue of bitumen adhesive. What is the best smoothing compound to cover this before laying the tiles?
Thanks.

Hi
I am tiling a conservatory floor with porcelain tiles and the walls are unplastered face brick. Do I grout or silicon where the two materials join?
Thanks.
