I have seen flexbone on the internet before but dont worry bal will try and convince people they invented it . If I remember rightly its a dry lay system so expect new British standards to suggest we shouldn't bond membranes

Flexbone?!

Sounds like a treat for dogs that is not only incredibly tasty, it also cleans their teeth.

Tile Shop

Just enquired about this. Not on BALs website yet and their own tech department doesn't have any literature they can forward on. Will try the rep. Was only officially launched yesterday.

Ok so you save on https://www.tilersforums.com/forums/tile-adhesive/ for the easy system, but with the word BAL in front of it, thats all the saving gone right off the bat! Although I can see it would have its uses.

There's 2 of them. One loose lay and one fixed with addy. See Ardex flexbone 720 & 740. Trimline have been selling one fir a while over here under the gutjahr brand which is also owned by Ardex.

It's bound to be eye wateringly expensive. I think it's biggest strength could be tile onto anhydrite quickly with out needing to remove laitance
Gonna be cheaper removing laitence than buying that and having to use all bal products for the guarantee though

There's to be a change to bs5385 to stipulate the difference between uncoupling and anti fracture. They are going to say that uncoupling means it must be unbonded.
Personally I see it as an assault on ditras dominance.
I'm yet to be convinced of anything outperforming ditra...

Has anyone actually started using this floating matting yet or have any user knowledge on it?
Doesn't sit right with me but must do the job and might have a job in the pipeline for it..
