    Slate tiles - sealant removal

Hi and :welcome: There are various cleaners/strippers you could try, but I would give the Fila helpdesk a call first.

Which is the better tiling method?

This is a good first question to ask, other than that I'd go with the Hardi backer

    which one would you do..

I have done a few boards at my local supplier, I help them when I can and I do it for free. They hand my cards out and the whole relationship works very nicely. I've actually spent half a day with them today, had a job that finished up early so called in for some networking  I would...

    Professional?..............or not.

I think being a professional is about doing the best for the customer and leaving them with a very positive over all experience  Strictly speaking "professional tiler" does mean someone who gets paid for tiling, but as already mentioned that doesn't automatically make you a good tiler

To BEad or not to BEad

each job is different, I take into account the tiles used, the layout of the room and the desired overall effect. The L shaped trim is nice, but sometimes even that can look a little bit too much.

    raar raar rant rant

I knew there was an excellent reason for being self employed, and to ensure I always get my coffee I carry a kettle in my motor . . . . that way, I put the kettle on, have a coffee and no one has the chance to get in before me

Curved cut's...How do you do yours?

Angle grinder with a rubi csv blade, cuts any tile brilliantly without any chipping, but as above the cutting is the easy bit marking it out in the 1st place is where the real skill lays

    doing the books

Usually do mine once a month, I use excel to keep everything in order and just print off the whole lot at the end of each year. My other half wants me to set up a sage act database so that I can easily track more detail
